Muskoka Auto Parts marks 80 years of family legacy and growth
It's not often a business can celebrate 80 years under the same family ownership while continuing to grow and evolve--but that's exactly what Muskoka Auto Parts Limited has achieved.
Spanning three generations, the Dennis family has remained committed to maintaining the company's core values while adapting to a changing industry.
The company's roots date back to 1940, under Lou Dennis, when it began in Parry Sound as Parry Sound Auto Parts--an automotive salvage and parts store operating during wartime. By 1946, a second location had opened in Huntsville under the Muskoka Auto Parts name.
As industries evolved, so did Muskoka Auto Parts. In the 1960s, the company embraced the growing snowmobile market, becoming a specialist in aftermarket parts, clothing, and accessories as well as cross-country ski equipment, marine products, snow and ice control equipment, and outdoor power tools.
In 1977, the current owners, Paul and David Dennis took over the business from their father, continuing its growth with new locations across Ontario--including Sundridge, Minden, Lindsay, Haliburton, Bobcaygeon, Gravenhurst, Fenelon Falls, Bracebridge, North Bay, and most recently Vaughan in 2019.
Today, Muskoka Auto Parts operates 10 locations and remains deeply connected to the communities it serves, supporting initiatives such as minor sports, scholarships, and co-op programs.
With innovations like the Lou Dennis Snow and Ice Equipment division Home - Lou Dennis Equipment and an expanding e-commerce platform, the company continues to position itself for the future.
